1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of sunshinetags.com and the services offered by SUNSHINETAGS.COM LLC, doing business as Sunshine Tags ("Sunshine Tags," "we," "us," or "our"). By submitting an order, uploading documents, or paying an invoice, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
We are a private company, not a government agency. Sunshine Tags is not the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) or any county tax collector, and is not endorsed by them. You may complete most title and registration transactions directly with your county tax collector, often for only the state fees. You pay us for convenience, document review, and handling.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the legal representative of the vehicle owner or business, to use our services.
2. How Our Remote Service Works
Remote orders follow these steps. We may contact you at any step if we need more information.
- Online intake. You select a service, answer the intake questions, provide your return mailing address, and upload clear photos or scans of all required documents.
- Document review. We review your uploads for completeness, signatures, and accuracy, and determine the fees for your transaction. If anything is missing or incorrect, we will ask you to correct and re-upload it. We may decline any order at our discretion before payment.
- Invoice. Once your documents are approved, we send you a single invoice covering all fees for your transaction (see Section 3).
- Prepaid mail-in label. After your invoice is paid in full, we email you a prepaid, tracked shipping label and a checklist of the original documents to mail to us.
- Originals received. When your originals arrive, we confirm they match the documents you uploaded and approved.
- Processing. We submit your transaction to the appropriate agency. Final approval of any title or registration rests with the State of Florida and its agents, not with us.
- Return delivery. We mail your completed paperwork, plate, decal, or other items to the return address you provided, using a tracked method, and email you the tracking number.
Turnaround times are estimates only. Timing depends on the transaction type, how quickly you upload and mail documents, mail transit, and agency processing. We do not guarantee completion by any particular date.
3. Fees, Payment, and Refunds
Your invoice will itemize the following fees, as they apply to your transaction:

Payment. All fees are due in full before we send your mail-in label or begin processing. Payments are processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your card information.
Fee accuracy. Fees are based on the documents you uploaded and the information you provided. If the originals you mail differ from your uploads, or if the State or county assesses additional fees, taxes, or penalties, we will invoice the difference. We will not complete processing until it is paid. If the amount collected exceeds the actual fees, we will refund the difference.
Mail-in label. The Prepaid Mail-In Label fee is non-refundable once the label has been generated.
Refunds. Refund requests are reviewed case by case, based on the time elapsed and the work we have performed on your order. We reserve the right to retain fees earned for work already done, even if your transaction cannot be completed. State and county fees already paid to an agency can be refunded only if, and to the extent that, the agency refunds them to us.
Originals not received. If we do not receive your original documents within 60 days after payment, we may cancel your order and refund your payment, less the Prepaid Mail-In Label fee and any fees earned for work performed.
Chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer for services we have performed, we may provide your order records to the issuer and pause any pending work on your order.
4. Your Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree that:
- All information and documents you provide are true, accurate, complete, and not altered or forged.
- You are the vehicle or vessel owner, or are legally authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- You will maintain any insurance required by Florida law.
- You will mail the same original documents you uploaded, using the label we provide, and package them securely.
- Your return mailing address is correct. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by an incorrect address you provided.
We may refuse or cancel any order we reasonably believe involves fraud, misrepresentation, or an unlawful purpose, and we may report suspected fraud to the appropriate authorities.
5. Mail and Shipping
We use tracked shipping methods for documents mailed to us and returned to you. Once a package is handed to the carrier, delivery is the carrier's responsibility. We are not liable for carrier delays, loss, or damage, but we will help you file a claim or trace a package where possible. If documents are lost in transit, we will help you apply for replacements, and the State's replacement fees will be your responsibility.
6. Mobile VIN Verification
Mobile VIN verification is offered at our sole discretion, depending on circumstances, location, and distance, for an additional fee quoted in advance. You must provide safe access to the vehicle at the scheduled time. A missed appointment may result in a trip charge.
7. Disclaimers
Our services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that any title, registration, or other transaction will be approved by the State of Florida or any county. Approval decisions rest with those agencies. We do not provide legal, tax, or financial advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the Service Fee you paid us for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost time, lost use of a vehicle, late fees, or penalties, or for delays caused by agencies, carriers, or inaccurate information you provided.
9. Indemnification
You agree to hold Sunshine Tags harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from information or documents you provided, or from your violation of these Terms or the law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be resolved in the state courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on sunshinetags.com with a new effective date. The Terms in effect when you place your order apply to that order.
